Hallmark Holidays:
National Chocolate Éclair Day

The word Éclair may have you daydreaming about the decadent custard-filled pastry, but the term is actually French for 'lightning.'  We're hard pressed to come up with many similarities between the dessert and the meteorological phenomenon, except for maybe they both make your hair stand on end.  So while you may never be struck twice by lightning, chances are great you'll be struck many times by the serious craving for a chocolate Éclair.  Indulge those cravings today.

And

National Onion Rings Day

Though they share the day with the chocolate éclair, onion rings are way on the opposite end of the culinary sophistication spectrum.  But that doesn't mean they're any less amazing.  A fast food staple and the perfect side dish substitution when potatoes just don't offer enough pizzazz, onion rings are the greasy treats that always ring true.

Movies coming out this weekend:
World War Z &  Monsters University.

Big Girl wants to go to Saturday Vigil Mass, so we did.
A little Wendy's Frosty afterwards.

Now good-night.
